Three suspects nabbed in high-speed chase

ALEXANDRA – Crush ends suspects' flight attempt.

Three suspects were arrested at about midnight on 6 December in Alexandra by members of the Flying Squad for the possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The members who were on crime prevention patrol spotted a silver Toyota Corolla, suspected to have been stolen, with three occupants in Florence Mophosho Avenue. The occupants sped off on seeing the squad vehicle resulting in a high-speed chase. During the chase, the occupants began to shoot at the police from the rear windows of their vehicle with what appeared to be two firearms.
