Here’s how to back a local charity

JOBURG – Residents can donate through a BackaBuddy link.

A local charity has made an urgent appeal for residents to help feed children.

Parkhurst resident and co-founder of the charity and non-profit organisation (NPO), Better on Better, Nanine Levitz, asked community members to lend a hand through donating.

She said the donations would go towards feeding the children as well as the homeless.

“If a child said they’re hungry, and you cannot help them, how would you feel? This is the reality for many parents during this pandemic. Help a child by providing a hot bowl of soup. We know times are tough and we are asking a lot,” said Levitz.

The organisation set up a relief fund page on the BackaBuddy website where people can click and donate.

Levitz said this was a very scary time in the country, with many having lost their jobs, unable to pay rent, unable to shop and stock up and some not even having running water.

Levitz said, “We’ve also put this fund together to help the homeless who have been moved to temporary shelters around South Africa. We’ll use this money to take food and supplies to each shelter, weekly. Please open your hearts to this and we’ll do our best to make a difference.”

She encouraged those who cannot donate to share their donation link in order to reach out to those who could donate.

Bet on Better is a local charity and NPO that aims to provide a positive, interactive platform for South Africa’s young achievers to share their success stories and appeal for assistance or support from the community in order to achieve even further heights.
