Uitkoms Home for Girls needs some donations
Here's how you could lend a helping hand.
Observatory’s Uitkoms Home for Girls has asked the public for donations.
The home’s Grade 12 learners are busy with online learning at home but expenses have not otherwise changed for Uitkoms during the lockdown.
In fact, having all the girls at the home every day for the whole day means that more groceries, electricity and data are used.
Uitkoms has asked for cleaning materials and soap bars, which are on its needs calendar for April and May, and also:
- Chicken
- Beef
- Rice
- Baked beans
- Tinned fish
- Margarine
- Spaghetti and macaroni
- Powdered soup packs
- Cooking oil
- Snacks such as popcorn or potato chips
- Sanitiser
- Toilet paper
- Dish washing liquid
- Washing powder
The home thanked everyone who has supported them and said they appreciate every donated item.Items can be delivered to 1140 St George’s Road, Observatory, any time between 8am and 4pm.
