Police looking for cigarette robbers
ALEXANDRA - Alex police are looking for three men who held up and robbed a delivery van of 160 cartons of cigarettes worth R700.
The Leondale victim said he was approached by the three men who were driving a white bakkie as he was delivering cigarettes at a tavern in Rhino Crescent in the Eastbank section of Alexandra.
The three suspects are said to have jumped out of their vehicle and ordered the victim to lie face down on the ground before making away with the cartons. It is not known whether the men were armed or not.
Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the police were appealing to anyone with information regarding this robbery to come forward.
