ALEXANDRA - Two sisters and their brother have been arrested after they beat up a 'lying' girlfriend.

The three siblings went to the victim’s 7th Avenue house before she returned from work.
When the 28-year-old arrived, her cousin told her that her boyfriend and sisters had come to the house wanting to speak to her. But before she could finish explaining, there was a knock on the door.
The victim opened the door and was confronted by the two sisters and her boyfriend, who accused her of lying that their brother’s child was sick.
Before she could finish explaining that the child was indeed sick and had been discharged from hospital, the sisters beat her up and accused of her of being a liar. The brother also joined in and pinned her down so the sisters could do the ‘work’ properly.It was only by the mercy of her neighbours that she was saved from the frenzied attack. She went to the police to open a case.
Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the three siblings involved in the beating had since been arrested and would appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of common assault.
