A woman tricked a man and lured him to a gang of armed thugs who wanted to shoot him for not having any money on him.
The 31-year-old man from Martin Zwane Street in the Far Eastbank said he met a woman named only as Matshikoane while he was drinking at a tavern known as the Master’s Place. When the victim wanted to leave the tavern and go home, Matshikoane then suggested they go out together as she wanted to have a word with him. Outside, the victim was confronted by five men, one of them armed with a firearm.
One of the suspects was known to Matshikoane, who said to the others, “I have delivered him”. The men then demanded money from the victim and searched his empty pockets and wallet.
When they discovered he had no money and his wallet was empty, the armed men said they wanted to shoot this “poor dog”.
As the suspects and woman argued among themselves, the victim managed to run away.
No shots were fired and Alex police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said they were still searching for the suspects.
