New Alex women’s social network body formed

ALEXANDRA - A new women's social network body whose hopes and ambitions is to drive the personal and professional development of women has been formed.

Alexandra has given birth to a new women’s social network body whose hopes and ambitions are to drive the personal and professional development of women in under-resourced communities.

Called the Purposeful Women Network, the organisation – which aims to host empowerment events, workshops and coaching session to groom women – has been co-founded by Alex social entrepreneur Xoliswa Moraka and her aunt, Mpho.

The organisation will be launched at the Alexandra Campus of the central Johannesburg College on 10 May from 12pm to 5pm. Purposeful Women Network (PWN) will, on the day of launch, host a women-only empowerment seminar themed 20 for Women.

The intention is to inspire, empower, equip and link women in and around the community of Alex with information and tools that will enable them to make the life-changes necessary to live their best lives in every aspect of it, said Moraka.

Expected at the launch are seven thought-leaders who will tackle topics relating to spirituality, beauty, image, relationships, careers, finance, health and wellness and living out your purpose, Moraka added.

“Through transformation-driven motivational seminars, women workshops and coaching programmes we hope to build a society of women who are purposeful and successful,” she said.

“The event is not about listening to other women who share how good they have it. It’s targeted at those women in need of a break-through who are struggling with something in life that is stopping them from realising their dreams and living the life they are meant for.

“We want to cause a paradigm shift, moving women from where they are to where they want to be. If you are serious about your personal growth and development, this is an event you don’t want to miss.”
