Bidvest Steiner Hygiene has come to the rescue of one of Alex’s oldest daycare centres which has been struggling to make ends meet.
More than 70 staff members of the Sandton branch of the hygiene company participated in giving back to the Boitumelong Early Learning Centre as part of Mandela Month.
Among the activities the company was involved in included deep cleaning of the ablutions, classrooms and toilets. The company also installed hygienic sanitising gadgets in the ablution blocks and pest control equipment, including placing four water coolers in classrooms.
Later in the day, the staff prepared a sumptuous braai for the centre’s children.
The company’s Sandton branch general manager, Floors Mynhardt said they were delighted to have been of service to the people of Alexandra.
“This is our first but by no means the last time that we shall venture into this historic township which is a stone’s throw from our branch, most of whose staff actually come from this, the oldest township in the country,” he added.
