Dentist in court for fraud
ALEXANDRA - A dentist is pending further court appearance at the Alex Magistrate’s Court for allegedly swindling medical aid schemes.
A dentist is awaiting a further court appearance at the Alex Magistrates’ Court for allegedly swindling medical aid schemes.
The practitioner’s case dates back to 2011, and he will appear in court again in April on more than 30 charges for allegedly defrauding two major schemes of close to half a million rand, and for contravening the Medical Aid Act.
The court heard that the dentist made claims to the schemes for sick-related incapacitation, but continued to work and charge patients in the same period.
