Woman allegedly raped in full public view
ALEXANDRA - An Alex man has been arrested and will appear in court for raping a 23 year old woman in broad daylight.
A 28-year-old Alex man has been arrested and will appear in court for allegedly raping a 23-year-old woman in broad daylight.
Alex police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Manare Ramotshela, said the incident occurred on 3 July outside a block of flats on 12th Avenue.
It is alleged the woman had been walking down the street at 5.30pm when the man, who is known to her, asked to accompany her.
Ramotshela said that as they were passing between two blocks of flats, the man allegedly grabbed the woman, pulled down her leggings and panties and ordered her to face and touch the wall.
He allegedly raped her in full public view without a condom before leaving her.
The woman is said not to have screamed as she was afraid of the man.
She reported the incident to the police, leading to his arrest. He will appear in court after investigations are concluded.
