Councillor concerned about police murders

ALEXANDRA - Ward 75 Councillor Chris Mabunda has expressed his concerns and those of his colleague regarding the on-going murders of the men and women in blue.

Ward 75 councillor Chris Mabunda has expressed his concerns and those of his colleagues regarding the ongoing murders of the men and women in blue.

“I condemn the killing of our police members and also urge the Alexandra Community Policing Forum’s educational roadshows to sensitise the community about the role of the police within society,” Mabunda said at the forum’s elective meeting on 5 September.

“Gone are those days of apartheid when the police were regarded as the enemy. We’re now living in a democratic state and the police have now transformed from being the enemy and have become our defenders.

“Our biggest enemies now are criminals and we should all rally behind the police in their fight to eradicate crime from our midst.”
