Alexandra and Bramley police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the relatives of an unknown man who was stabbed to death on 26 September.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said the man, estimated to be between 29 and 33 years old, collapsed and died from stab wounds to the left shoulder and his hands. The incident occurred at midnight on 26 September on the corner of 17th and Florence Maphosho avenues.
Maphakela said witnesses saw the man staggering, and when they went to help, he fell and collapsed after uttering the words, ‘Sello’ and ‘Extension 10’. Maphakela said paramedics and the police were called to the scene, but found the victim dead upon arrival. It is suspected he may have been stabbed elsewhere, as none of the witnesses heard an altercation or saw his attack.
The man had no ID on him and was wearing a red T-shirt, black jeans and mismatched takkies.
