Alex chamber wins again
ALEXANDRA - The Greater Alexandra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Galxcoc) has been awarded the prestigious Chamber of the Year by South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the second time in a row.
The Greater Alexandra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Galxcoc) was recently awarded the prestigious SACCI Chamber of the Year Award by South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) for the second year in a row.
The awards ceremony provides different chambers with a chance to showcase some of the innovative work they do in the local community to enhance the business standards and opportunities offered to aspiring entrepreneurs. It recognises and rewards outstanding performances of business excellence while continuing to encourage entrepreneurial and community spirit.
The prestigious award was made at a recent gala dinner attended by leaders in business, government and community. The event was held to celebrate the achievements of local businesses, organisations and individuals within the country.
Under the theme, Red Carpet not Red Tape, the Alex chamber beat five other nominees for the award including the Randburg Chamber, the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business, the Durban Chamber of Commerce, the Cullinan Business Chamber and the George Business Chamber.
The Alex chamber won the award for its flagship programmes such as the Alex Start Up Weekend among others.
