Men detained for stolen goods
JOBURG - The Alexandra Magistrates' Court recently detained three men pending further investigations after they were found in possession of suspected stolen items and a vehicle.
The suspects will reappear in court after investigations are concluded.
The court heard that at 7.15am on 29 October, the accused from Kaalfontein were stopped by visible policing unit officers while driving a VW Golf in President Park, Midrand.
The driver was searched and found with an unlicensed firearm. One passenger was found with four bullets and the other was found in possession of an Okapi knife. In the car, Midrand police found a home theatre system, five speakers and a subwoofer, several Nokia cellphones, three phone chargers and a crowbar suspected to be used for house breaking. The suspects allegedly failed to verify ownership of the items and the vehicle.
