Alleged serial rapist case postponed again
ALEXANDRA - The ANC women’s league members and traditional healers continued their watch of child serial rapist's court case.
The ANC Women’s League members and traditional healers continued to attend an alleged serial child rapist’s court case.
Elias Ditinti, who has appeared in court several times after his arrest in August, was remanded in custody after his legal team opted to forego bail, presumably to avoid inciting public fury and for his safety. He reappeared again in Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 7 December where the case was further postponed to 26 January 2016.
Placards from the league and healers denouncing rape draped the court’s entrance.
Ditinti has admitted to two of the three rape charges. All of them are said to have occurred after he allegedly forced the victims into the taxi he was driving. In the latest case, Ditinti was caught by Metro police allegedly raping an underage schoolgirl at the Marlboro cemetery.
