Mayambela joins SuperSport
JOBURG - SuperSport United and Chippa United have come to an agreement for the early release of midfielder, Mark Mayambela.
The 28-year-old former Orlando Pirates player is SuperSport United’s first signing in the January transfer window and will join his Matsatsantsa teammates with immediate effect.
Mayambela, who moved from Pirates to join Swedish side Djurgården in 2014 before returning home to Chippa United, described his move to the Tshwane outfit as “a great opportunity for me to come here and hopefully play some regular football at a big club like SuperSport United”.
He added, “It was a move which happened very quickly and one which I am delighted to have been able to finalise so soon. I’m looking forward to meeting up with the lads. I’ve got my first training session this morning [15 January] and I’m available to play should I be picked,” he said.
After a successful spell in Sweden, the skillful midfielder featured in nine of the 12 Chippa United league games this season, scoring two goals.
