Victims robbed, beaten and shot outside school
ALEXANDRA - Alexandra police have appealed to the public to help them track down three armed suspects who robbed their victims at the gates of Skeen Primary School in Tsutsumani Village on the afternoon of 19 January.
According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, the victim and his friend were confronted by three men, one of them armed with a firearm, and demanded money just as they were about to enter the gates of the school at 2.30pm.
They then allegedly searched their victims and took an undisclosed amount of money, cellphones and other valuables and beat one of the victims on the head with the butt of a gun and shot the other in the right hand before fleeing the scene.
Maphakela said it is not known whether the victims were teachers or parents at the school or just visitors, and what business they had at the school, but he appealed to the community to come forward with information that could assist them to track down the suspects.
