Sad to poison innocent little souls, say readers
JOBURG - In this month of love, Alex News freelancer Mandla Mbekwa took to the streets of Alex to seek the opinions of our readers about one of the most painful incidents which happened in the township recently.
This was the poisoning of three children by their father, Mthulisi Nkomo.
Two of the children, both boys, died along with Nkomo while only the girl survived the ordeal. She is currently recuperating with family after being discharged from Edenvale General Hospital.
DONALD MOTEME: I believe that the gentleman was not justified in the course he took. We are capable of making our own decisions which are influenced by the person within. It’s a lie to say he killed the kids because he thought that they will suffer.
DIMAKATSO BANDA: The man was selfish and indeed very abusive, he ill-treated the mother of the children and he could not face the consequences of raising the kids. The woman could not just run away without any tight [sic] reasons, she was forced to leave.
TRULY ZIKALALA: The mother of the children should not have left the kids with a monster in the first place. How could she leave them with a man that she cannot trust?
XOLELA BOQO: The fact that the mother decided to leave her children behind, that makes everything wrong. How can she leave a man to raise kids alone? The man thought it is better to take his life and the children so that they do not suffer, of which I agree on that.
