Johannesburg-based Ntsako Theo Mbulelo Jnr Manetsa, popularly known as King Jay, said he has always been passionate about music but never thought it would take him this far.
Jay recently signed up with Teamtalkless Entertainment, a record label co-owned by Emmy Gee of Rands and Naira’s fame, alongside young mogul Osaretin Ogbemudia and hit-maker Shizz, also known as Seyi Akerele.
The 25-year-old said it was an honour to sign to a label that believes in your talent and backs your talent regardless.

“It was a dream come true for me, I could have signed with any other label, but I felt like Teamtalkless understands me more in terms of identity and they push towards the right direction,” Jay said.
Jay has already made notable strides in the music industry with prominent features and collaborations under his belt and has worked with industry heavyweights such as DJ Shimza, Uhuru and Oskido.
However, he had to overcome many challenges in his life including losing some of his friends and beating addiction.
“I have beaten the odds of substance abuse. What wakes me up every day is the fact that I could die tomorrow. I always told myself I don’t want to die an ordinary man.”
Not so long ago, Jay released his first single titled Owami and features Emmy G. The young musician said he wants to be an inspiration to other artists in the industry and hopes he can be remembered as one of the greatest musicians that ever lived.
“I don’t want to be a role model, being a role model is easy, I want to be an inspiration,” he said.
“If I have an alcohol problem, I must inspire you not to be an alcoholic because you can see what it does to me.”
