On 5 April, a new online food delivery platform was launched at the Pick n Pay Good Food Studio at Thyme on Nicol in Craighall Park.
Guests were invited to share in the culinary fun as health food fanatic, Izelle Hoffman, gave the lowdown on her new online food delivery portal called Fraiche.
Fraiche partnered with Farmwise, Mayford, Illy and FitAid to get people living healthier by supplying fresh and organically-grown food to the public.
Farmwise prepares and packages a wide range of fresh vegetables to top retail chains in South Africa, and now through Fraiche, the public can have the same fresh produce delivered straight to their homes.
“There’s a reason why I approached and got involved with these brands,” Hoffman began.
The partnership is bringing together a number of food brands that are passionate about nutrition and education.
In addition, those who are passionate about good, nutritious food can also sign up for cooking courses to find out how to make the best dishes using any fresh fruit or vegetable.
Hoffman even showed the guests at the event how to make the most delicious brownies using sweet potatoes, almond butter and everything else one would normally not expect in a brownie recipe.
She told City Buzz that she does not only want the public to buy fresh food online, but also wants them to get involved in the causes that are dear to her heart.
The soon-to-be-available ‘Giving back’ tab will allow users to help out schools in need.
As Hoffman believes that sport is very important to the development of children, a certain percentage of funds received through the sale of the fresh produce will be donated to schools to aid in the development of new sports facilities.
Keeping the public healthy and donating towards a philanthropic cause is a Fraiche idea.
