Man awaits sentence for school robbery

ALEXANDRA - Read up on how a thief is awaiting sentencing for a robbery incident at Kwa-Bhekilanga Secondary School.

A man from Kew is awaiting sentencing by Alexandra Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to housebreaking and robbery at Kwa-Bhekilanga Secondary School.

Samuel Molefe (27) admitted to breaking into the school on 24 March where he was caught with stolen items.

The court heard that at about 9pm on the day, a female security guard on duty saw Molefe walking on the school premises and then disappeared as she approached him. The guard pressed a panic button which alerted other guards who joined her in the search.

They eventually found the Molefe hiding behind a door in one of the offices. He was arrested and handed over to police.

When they checked the premises, they found that he had tried to break into the library and had stolen five mops, four brooms, a heater, containers of bleach and cleaning products, refuse bags and a stapler. The items were returned to the school.
