Foetus dumped at Helen Joseph Women’s Hostel

Alex police are investigating the discovery of a foetus found in the late afternoon of 6 June dumped at the Helen Joseph Women’s Hostel.

The foetus, which was taken by the government’s forensic team, was found by workers of a private company contracted to clean the hostel’s drainage and sewerage pipes. Witnesses said the fully-developed foetus was pulled out of a drain which it was seemingly blocking.

When contacted for comment, spokesperson for Alex Police Station Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela said he would look into the matter and update Alex News on developments.
