ALEXANDRA – Husband beats wife for late dinner.
An Alex woman (31) has opened a case at the Alex Police Station against her husband for domestic violence with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the incident occurred at about 7.30pm on 21 July this year at the couple’s 4th Avenue home.
The victim had a meeting with neighbours at her home and after it ended she found her husband waiting for her. He allegedly complained to her for cooking dinner late. After she apologised for the delay, the angry husband told her that she was disrespectful and assaulted her until the neighbours came to her rescue.
A police investigation will determine if and when the matter will go before the court.
