Neo Beats is determined to succeed
JOBURG – Neo Beats releases highly anticipated single which has taken the music scene by storm.
Newtown-based multi-talented producer, singer and award-winning rapper, Neo Molokoane is taking the entertainment world by storm, after releasing his highly anticipated single, Eleven Over Ten (#11Over10) featuring hip-hop sensation, Reason.
Molokoane, popularly known as Neo Beats, first rose to fame as a producer for Greenlight Entertainment where he achieved recognition for his work with hip-hop artists.
He has worked with various established musos including the likes of Morale, Bricks and Tuks. His fan base has increased substantially over the past two years having performed at various events and festivals throughout the country, including the Soweto Festival, Back to the City and at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival.
“The single infuses old school elements with the current soundscape in music now, both lyrically and from a production stance. It also has a catchy yet meaningful hook that works as a bridge for any environment. The idea for this single came during a beat selection with Reason and myself to be overboard, extra and beyond the average Joe,” expressed Neo Beats.
The 29-year-old artist was featured in the September 2011 issue of Hype Magazine, as the Best Newcomer and in the February 2012 issue of Loocha Magazine in the musical review section. He has also appeared on e.tv’s Shiz Niz music programme and was profiled on SABC 1.
More recently, he’s been in the studio crafting his debut album, writing songs that include personal experiences such as losing his left eye and how it affected his self-esteem, but also inspired him to have a positive outlook on life.
Molokoane said fans could expect a lot from him in the last quarter of the year as he looks to push his brand. “Right now the new single is where the focus is and people can expect another single before I drop the album,” he said.
