Man beats, snatches baby from girlfriend
ALEXANDRA – Man investigated for beating, snatching baby from girlfriend.
Alex police are investigating a man for allegedly assaulting and snatching a baby from his girlfriend.
The suspect has not been arrested.
According to spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang, the incident happened at about 10.15pm on 7 September. The victim was walking home on 11th Avenue with her baby on her back when the suspect stopped her and allegedly hit her in the face. After the alleged assault, the suspect grabbed the baby and walked away, leaving her with a bruised face and a cut on her check.
The victim reported that the suspect abused her constantly and that on one occasion, he beat her on the head with the butt of a gun. It wasn’t clarified if the suspect gave back the child.
