A three-township beauty pageant to be held soon
ALEXANDRA – Alexandra will host a beauty pageant which will feature contestants from three townships.
Alexandra’s Black Rose Academy, a grooming agency for young and aspiring models, will celebrate a first in the beauty pageant world as it hosts a bevy of beauties from three townships who will be pitted against each other for the crown.
The pageant extravaganza, which will be held on 29 October at East Bank Hall, will feature contestants from Alexandra, Soweto and Tembisa.
The contest will start at 11am and will run until 6pm and pageant founder and organiser, Marks Bernards of Black Rose Academy, said members from the various townships and other interested parties from outside the three townships have all been invited to come and show support to the models who are representing their communities.
Miss Alexandra High Schools 2016 contestants will also be competing against each other, and the academy will be giving away with R1 000 to the top pupil who puts on an outstanding performance.
Bernards urged the community of Alexandra to come in their numbers to give support to all the contestants doing duty for their respective communities and townships on the day. “We urge them to come and see the talent on offer from the various townships, including our very own beauties from Alexandra,” Bernards said in his appeal.
