Mini enthusiasts donate to flood victims in Alex
ALEXANDRA – Mini Cooper drivers come to the rescue of flood victims in Alexandra's Setswetla informal settlement.
Lovers and drivers of Mini Coopers in Soweto and Midrand took time off from their speedsters to donate food, blankets and clothing items to the victims of the recent floods in Alexandra which claimed the life of a three-year-old girl.
Known as Soweto Miniacs and Midrand Miniacs, which are non-government organisations, the Mini drivers felt the urge to come to the aid of the victims in the Setswetla informal settlement in Marlboro when the Jukskei River overflowed its banks.
Neo Mokoena, public relations officer of the Soweto Miniacs, said they had teamed up with their Midrand counterparts to provide some relief to the Alex victims.
