Man held on murder charge
ALEXANDRA – Two Alex women murdered in two consecutive days.
A suspect is due in court soon on a charge of murder.
Police are also on the lookout for suspects wanted in connection with the murder of another woman.
Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang, said in the first incident, which happened at an 11th Avenue home, police found a body, identified as that of Nokuthula Mabhena, on her bed at midnight on 17 November. She had stab wounds to the throat and right hand and was declared dead by emergency management services, who took her body to a mortuary.
The deceased’s brother told police that the suspect and the deceased’s boyfriend sent him an SMS stating that he was finished with her. This was, presumably, in reference to the murder. The suspect was arrested and is due in court soon.
