ÁLEXANDRA – Men in police uniform hijack whisky truck over festive season.

Three wanted suspects posing as police officers hijacked a truck loaded with bottles of whisky for delivery at a Wynberg bottle store.

The incident occurred at about 9.30am on 19 December and the vehicle, a white Nissan truck valued at R300 000, and its load of unspecified value has not been found.

The suspects told the truck driver to come to their vehicle as he had outstanding traffic fines. One of the suspects then pointed a firearm at the driver and he was forced into their vehicle. The other suspects bundled the two crew members into the boot of the BMW before the suspects drove away with them and the truck.

The victims were dropped off in Bapsfontein.
