Jonathan Rikhotso needs your help after losing his tin shack in a fire on 20 December, and to make matters worse he had just lost his job when the incident happened.
“I lost my tin house with everything in it,” said Rikhotso, who is now renting a room in Alex.
He explained that he lost his job due to sickness and has been unemployed since last year. He is a technician and said he has done a bit of office admin work in the past. Now that he is feeling better, he said, he will do any type of job to earn a living.
An emotional Rikhotso said one of his biggest worries is that his four girls and wife might end up homeless because he won’t be able to pay his landlord rent on 5 February. “I have no money so I don’t know if the owner of the house will kick us out or where we will run to for shelter because this time is the rainy season.”
He and his wife share a small room with their 19-year-old daughter and 15-year-old twins. His youngest daughter is only four – and he still needs to put her through school.
He explained that’s it’s awkward sharing one room with teenaged children. “I need another place or old material to build another shack to separate ourselves from our children.”
He said the only thing he owns are the clothes on his back, and he is in desperate need of school shoes, uniforms, books and stationery for his daughters. If anyone is willing to assist Rikhotso, please contact him.
