Police officers nab 52 suspects in one week in Alexandra
ALEXANDRA – Alex police officers have been very busy lately with 52 arrests and 25 cases handled in a week.
Alex police officers handled 25 criminal cases which were reported at Alex Police Station and arrested 52 suspects in the week ending 5 March.
Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Lieutenant Allie Kodisang said the following arrests were made:
- 1 for attempted murder
- 4 for assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm
- 10 for common assault
- 1 for common robbery
- 3 for malicious damage to property
- 1 for theft from motor vehicle
- 4 for possession of property suspected stolen from motor vehicle
- 2 for residential burglary
- 3 for general theft
- 2 for fraud
- 5 for drug-related crimes
- 11 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The following cases were reported at the station;
- 1 for rape
- 2 for theft from motor vehicle
- 2 for vehicle hijacking
- 8 for residential burglary
- 5 for house robbery
- 1 for business burglary
- 6 for robbery using a firearm.
